The John Dramani Mahama camp is providing each delegate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) with GH ¢40 to enable them get to the voting centers in Saturday’s presidential and parliamentary primaries.

“There must be no discrimination in the disbursement of the GH¢40 per delegate T&T money,” Professor Joshua Alabi, who is John Dramani Mahama’s Campaign Manager, is quoted as saying.

A statement issued by the office of John Dramani Mahama on Friday, May 12 said the amount will not be a replacement to what the party will provide.

“The Campaign believes supporting the delegates to travel to the centers will ensure a high voter turnout and every  voter will be empowered to vote and return home without financial impediment in these difficult economic times,” the statement signed by the Spokesperson of Mr Mahama, Joyce Bawa Mogtari, said.

The primaries of the NDC to elect 2024 candidates will be held across the country on Saturday, May 13.

The exercise was nearly suspended after one of the flagbearer aspirants, Dr Kwabena Duffuor, filed a suit at the Accra High Court, injuncting the process.

He withdrew his suit and subsequently his candidature on Friday, May 12.

Former President Mahama and his appointee, Kojo Bonsu, will therefore slug it out for the single ticket of who becomes NDC’s 2024 flagbearer.
