The Special aide to Former President John Dramani Mahama, Joyce Bawah Mogtari has suggested, that the exceptional leadership qualities displayed by her boss and his iconic status in Ghana have made him a statesman in demand to lead the country again

Speaking in an in-studio interview with Julius Caesar Anadem on Ultimate FM monitored by MyNewsGh.com, Madama Bawah Mogtari noted that, the tours being embarked on by the former president have revealed a lot to the NDC and the Mahama’s team about hunger for him to come back to power and deliver Ghanaians from hardship.

“Responses to Mahama’s comeback have been phenomenal all over, and his tour has revealed a lot to the team and Ghanaians at large. He was one of the most battered individuals in Ghana at the time when he was leaving office and I remember one of his very profound statements he said was posterity will be the judge and indeed over the years he has become an iconic figure”

“His energy is strong, and almost eight years after leaving office, looking a bit gray can still travel around the country engaging Ghanaians, people find that refreshing. Mahama has become the voice of reasoning in this country now, and I keep telling people he is a statesman in demand everywhere we go”, she disclosed.

Joyce Bawah Mogtari, however, wondered why people kept questioning the comeback of John Dramani Mahama.

“I have always wondered why people think that way. Do you know any leader who just woke up and arrived in the leadership role? just look at the leaders around… late Professor Mills lost an election and contested again two times, before that he was a distinguished academic and lawyer and former commissioner of IRS, for example, someone like John Dramani Mahama, pretty much the same, even president Akufo-Addo, who is currently our leader. He was Foreign Affairs Minister, Attorney General and Minister of Justice but he still wanted to be president and contested three times to get there. I think that leaders are built a certain way”, she argued.

“A leader starts from somewhere and a leader knows when they still have something to offer and with the multiparty system, it allows for that and if the party feels that the man is still around and can do better why not? In any case, President Mahama just turned 65” she added.
