The Ho District GNAT-LAS, under the leadership of Madam Benedicta Tawiah and her indefatigable executives, as part of their activities for the year 2024, celebrated the International Women’s Day on 8th March 2024 with the theme: Inspire inclusion: Breaking Barriers. The celebration which was held at the GNAT HALL, Ho, saw the convergence of enthusiastic ladies from the various locals in the district. In attendance was the Ho District GNAT Chairperson; Madam Lois Tipong, who chaired the occassion, Mrs Marian Jemima Akua Adzroe, the Managing Director of EP Schools in Ghana, who stood in for the Ho District Director of Education; Dr Esther Adzo Yeboah-Adzimah as the guest of honour, Mr Michael Dolewosime, a former District GNAT Secretary and Mr Emmanuel Buahini, an IT expert.

Mrs Adzroe, making an exposition on breaking barriers on behalf of the guest of honour, gave the reasons behind the celebration of the international women day, and the impacts it has on women as a whole. She made mention that Inclusive education and technological proficiency, goes hand in hand. Mrs. Adzroe also stressed on the fact that Education is not a right, but a force that is ranted worldwide. In conclusion, the ladies were encouraged to emulate worthy role models in the society, and step out of their comfort zones to unleash the treasures embedded in them, for society to benefit.

Mr Emmanuel Buahini then took the participants through some basic IT skills, which he admonished will help them a great deal. He shared some inspiring stories about how he achieved his IT goals despite all odds, and then went ahead to facilitate the session. Mr Buahini assisted the ladies on short cuts to navigating their way when using a computer.

There was a short lunch break, after which Mr. Dolewosime delved into the topic: GNAT Women and the writing process to become writers. He elaborated on the stages in writing, rules in writing, benefits of free writing, looping, the actual writing amongst others. It was an extremely educative session, which sowed a seed of writing in the ladies.

The day was finally crowned with some tutorials on numerous juice preparation, after which the participants took a group photograph and departed.
