he Members of Parliament for Tamale South, Tamale North and Tamale Central in the Northern Region have been retained through a popular acclamation in their respective constituencies to contest in the 2024 general elections on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress.

The former Minority Leader of Parliament, Haruna Iddrisu, went unopposed in the May 13, 2023, parliamentary primaries of the NDC in Tamale South.

Mr. Iddrisu was earlier contested by one Bawa Abdul Fataw, who during the vetting process was disqualified after it was found out that he was a register voter in the Tamale Central constituency.

But none picked nominations to contest the MPs for Tamale North and Tamale Central constituencies, Alhassan Sayibu Suhuyini, and Ibrahim Mohammed Murtala respectively.

Meanwhile, the fourth candidate who went unopposed in the Saturday’s elections in the region was Daniel Nsala Wakpal, the incumbent Member of Parliament for Kpandai constituency.

Out of the nine constituencies NDC MPs, only the Member of Parliament for Sagnarigu, Alhaji A.B.A Fuseini lost in the primaries to a newcomer, Atta Issah.
