The Gallant Cadres of NDC, an opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) group, has stated that former President John Dramani Mahama cannot protect President Akufo-Addo’s legacy because it is unworthy of preservation.

The group claims Nana Addo’s administration is riddled with corruption, nepotism, economic suffering, mismanagement, and ineptitude.

Richard E. A. Sarpong, the group’s Public Relations Officer, criticized the government’s reckless borrowing and economic mismanagement, claiming it has worsened the situation for Ghanaians.

Speaking on Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, he stated that “John Mahama cannot protect a legacy of corruption, nepotism, stealing, mismanagement, incompetence, and hardship”.

He served notice that a new Mahama-led administration will destroy the terrible legacy of Nana Addo, including unprecedented nepotism; 51 family and friends in government; the legacy of destroying our environment with the NPP-sponsored galamsey; wiping out the middle class with DDEP; sending pensioners to their early graves with DDEP; spending our taxes on hiring private jets; the highest inflation rate in our history; and pushing close to a million Ghanaians into poverty.

He criticized the inadequate feeding of secondary school students and the alarming number of scandals reported under this administration.

He then took a swipe at Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, describing him as a liar.

He said the former deputy governor of the Bank of Ghana was sold to us as an economic wizkid, and yet he has demonstrated failed leadership.

He also touched on the decision by multinational companies to exit the Ghanaian market due to unfavourable conditions, blaming the government for failing to design measures to make the business environment favourable.

He assured Ghanaians that former President Mahama would deliver a leadership devoid of nepotism and corruption, but rather a leadership of service, accountability, and transparency.

He also accused Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of plagiarising some eleven policies the NDC’s candidate had already announced.

These include abolishing the e-levy and betting tax, abolish VAT on electricity, abolish the emissions tax, Amend the 1992 Constitution/Constitutional Review, Regularise and regulate small-scale mining. Reduce the number of ministers and deputies drastically. Cancel ex-gratia, National Development Plan for Ghana, Create industrial zones, Train one [1] million youth in coding.and free tertiary for persons living with disabilities.
