In a swift response to former President John Mahama’s criticism, the Kumawu District Chief Executive (DCE), Samuel Addai Agyekum, fired back with a witty remark.

After Mahama cautions President Akufo-Addo to hand over power smoothly to Him if he wins, the DCE retorted, “You should also accept defeat with dignity and congratulate Bawumia if he wins. It’s easy to advise others, but can you take your own advice?”

The Kumawu District Chief Executive (DCE), Samuel Addai Agyekum, has offered words of wisdom to former President John Mahama ahead of the 2024 polls.

“We all want a smooth transition of power, just like President Akufo-Addo has demonstrated,” the DCE said. “So, Mr. Mahama, if the people choose Bawumia, please congratulate him and accept defeat with grace.”

Former President Mahama, who has announced his intention to run again, faces stiff competition from Bawumia and other contenders.

“Let us prioritize peace and unity, regardless of who wins,” he added.

As the election season unfolds, all eyes will be on Mahama and Bawumia, hoping they will heed the DCE’s advice and prioritize the nation’s interest above all else.
