A private legal practitioner, who also doubles as a former deputy General Secretary for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Lawyer Nana Obiri Boahen has urged the party to utilise the Military during elections.

He is of the conviction that, the ruling is in charge of the Ghana Armed forces, hence very significant to leverage it effectively.

This statement comes amidst the ongoing voter transfer exercise.

In an interview on Wontumi Morning Show, on 7th June, 2024, Mr. Boahen stressed the need for the governing NPP to capitalise on its power, and not allow the opposition NDC exploit the security services in the nation.

” I blame the NPP If anything goes wrong, in the process. You are the ruling and in charge of the army. Why do you allow the NDC to send a ‘macho man’ to Drobonso in Sekyere Afram Plains to mar the activity?

I do not have any voice in situations like these. The NDC would not have done that if there were Military officers at the centres. NDC is rehearsing, the NPP should not sit there idle” he explained.
