Former Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan has served notice he will accept the offer to partner Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia as his running mate if it is tabled.
He said no one will reject such an “honour” but he knows they are just mere rumours.
“Honour is something everybody likes,” he said after having a good laugh about the question.
“I won’t reject it but I know that’s big.”
The question was posed by host Captain Smart on Onua Maakye
on Onua TV on Monday, April 15 during an exclusive interview with the record Ghana goal scorer.
He indicated, however, that he will make his experience and knowledge readily available for the development of sports in the country.
Gyan is the chairman of the Sports Sub-Committee of Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia’s manifesto committee.
He is expected to help the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential Candidate, in the area of sports, come out with a strategic manifesto for the December 7 elections.
He has since launched the All Regional Games, a maiden multi-sport competition which is expected to unveil sports talents in the country.
A regional tour is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, April 16 until next month ahead of the national championships.
