Dr. Alhaji Muhammad Bawah Barimah, an Ejura Sekyedumase Member of Parliament (MP), has stated unequivocally that, regardless of the circumstances, Electoral Commissioner Mrs. Jean Adukwei Mensa will declare former President John Dramani Mahama as President after the December 7 presidential election.

According to him, no matter the manipulations that will be deployed, the former president will emerge as the elected president and be sworn in on January 7, 2025.

The lawmaker also referenced the comments by President Akufo-Addo that he will hand over to Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia on January 7, 2025.

He said that authority does not reside in the current president, stressing that he will have no option but to hand it over to Mahama in 2025.

“I am telling President Akufo-Addo that he will be smiling while handing over to John Dramani Mahama. He will hand it over with speed. Mahama defeated him in 2012. President Kufour handed over peacefully to the late Atta Mills. In 2012, Mahama defeated him, and the EC declared Mahama.as president.

To the EC boss, he said, “Whether Jean Mensa likes it or not, she will declare John Dramani Mahama as the elected president. The elections would be conducted in all polling stations; the votes cast would be counted and collated, and Mahama would win.”

The MP went ahead to appeal to constituents and Ghanaians in general to participate in the registration of new voters and all other activities proceeding the upcoming general elections so they would participate in the 2014 presidential and parliamenatry elections.

He also asked Ghanaians to trust in the leadership of Mahama, the running mate, and the NDC to deliver competent leadership.

“I want Ghanaians to have faith in former President John Dramani Mahama, his running mate, Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, our political candidates, and the NDC. We are optimistic about winning the general elections. We will protect our votes and ensure that John Mahama is declared the winner. We will win the 2024 general elections,” he added.
