Video: Mahama shuts Haruna Idrisu’s presidential ambition with selfishness and hypocrisy – Chairman Wontumi

The Ashanti regional chairman for the New Patriotic Party, Bernard Antwi Bosiako has opined that, the member of Parliament for Tamale South, Haruna Iddrisu would have been the best choice as a presidential candidate for the National Democratic Congress.

He believes that, the former minority leader is more suitable for the flagbearership role compared to former president, John Dramani Mahama.

In an exclusive interview on Northern Gold TV, on 20th March, 2024, he recounted the abilities of the member of Parliament.

“Mahama saw Haruna as a threat politically, and could defeat him if he was given the opportunity. However, NDC has done a mistake for selecting Mahama as their flagbearer. They had a very good alternative such as Haruna Iddrisu yet, they brought Mahama as the presidential candidate” he stressed.

In addition, he stated passionately that, the vice president and flagbearer for the New Patriotic Party, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia will serve the nation for eight years when he is given the mandate in the forthcoming elections.
