Two of the individuals who got burned following the explosion at a premix fuel depot at Ngyirasia, a fishing community in Essikado-Ketan of the Western Region, have died.

The explosion is said to have occurred following a leakage at the premix fuel depot in Ngyirasia.

The explosion led to the injuries of sixteen people.

The victims were sent to various hospitals for medical care.

However, two of them could not survive and have since passed.

According to the information available, the explosion occurred after the leaked premix fuel came into contact with fire from the fishmongers in a nearby smoking facility.

The explosion occurred on Saturday, May 18, at about 4 p.m.

Thirteen of the victims were sent to the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital in Takoradi, where they are receiving treatment.

The other three were sent to Saint Benedict Hospital in Inchaban.

Two vehicles, including a Range Rover and an Opel Astra Taxi, were also destroyed.The police are currently investigating the explosion.
