Former member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Stephen Atubiga has bemoaned the delay in the naming of vice presidential candidates by John Mahama and Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, presidential candidates of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) respectively.
Mr Atubiga who is now the founder and leader of the newly-formed National Liberation Congress (NLC), wondered whether choosing a running mate amounted to choosing a wife such that John Mahama and Dr Bawumia had to take so much time to do.
He reminded them that selecting a Vice presidential candidate was serious business since it is about winning political power.
“JDM and Bawumia should know choosing a running mate is not like choosing a Bride (Amariya)to show your family to be delaying. It’s for power and serious business,” he wrote.
Even though Ghana is set to hold General Elections ( presidential and parliamentary elections) this year, the two dominant parties are yet to name their vice presidential candidates.
