A former National Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) doubts the recent reshuffle by President Nana Addo Dankwa AKufo-Addo will have any impact in his last term in office.

Mr. Freddy Blay, who spoke to Starrfm, said the reshuffle is ‘too late’ for the Nana Addo-led government.

“The circumstances might not be the same today, and people may have a change of opinion, but to me, it is getting a bit too late to effect any meaningful changes in terms of a reshuffle of the government,” he said.

Adding that, “It was two years or a year ago that he [President Akufo-Addo] needed to do the reshuffle. If you recall, some members of the majority caucus in parliament insisted under some circumstances that there ought to be some changes, but the President requested for one minister to conclude the IMF negotiations before he could do that.”

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo announced his most radical ministerial reshuffle since he took office on January 7, 2017.

13 current ministers of state, including 10 cabinet ministers and two regional ministers, have been affected by the reshuffle.
