Properties worths millions of Ghana Cedis were Sunday morning consumed by fire at Accra Zongo Lane.

The fire which started in one warehouse spread to other warehouses and shops belonging to both locals and foreign nationals due to the unavailability of a fire tender leather.

The fire is said to have started around 11am Sunday.

Fortunately, Fire Service Personnel arrived at the scene. Unfortunately, they couldn’t do much as right under their watch the fire spread across other warehouses.

All the fire tenders brought to the fire scene were deemed weak, making it difficult for the water to reach its target.

A fire ladder was needed but the only fire ladder is based in Tema, leaving the fire personnel with no option than to stand and look on.

Others took advantage of the situation to loot some properties.  Owners of the various shops were left with no option than to relocate their goods as the fire kept spreading.

Some of the items destroyed include, musical instruments, ladies wear, electrical appliances, furniture, phones accessories, ladies’ bags, and children dresses.

The cause of the fire is however yet to be established.
