Legal Department of Parliament has been served with the ruling for a stay on the Speaker’s ruling declaring four seats vacant.

The Supreme Court chaired by five Judges under the leadership of the Chief Justice ruled that the Speaker’s ruling that declared four seats vacant be stayed.

This was after an exparte application was filed at the Supreme Court by the Majority leader Alexander Afenyo Markin.

The ruling reverses Parliament to what it was before the Speaker’s ruling that gave the NDC a Majority in Parliament.

Meanwhile, the NDC caucus in Parliament has insisted that they will not recognize any ruling from the court as it is unlawful for the court to interfere in the affairs of Parliament.

They intend to jealously protect their Majority status.
