New structures are being constructed along the beach of PAMBROSS, a coastal community in Dansoman, in the Greater Accra Region.

Despite the impending danger, the buildings are being constructed a few metres from the sea.

Some of the structures, according to information gathered by

Rainbowradioonline.com, are to be used for bars, pubs, clubs, and apartments.

At the time of the visit, some of the uncompleted buildings were already up for sale.

One other challenge witnessed was the issue of illegal sand-winning activities.

Individuals were at the beach, winning sand, when a team from the website visited the area on Sunday, April 21, 2024.

They extracted sand from the beach to meet the growing demand for construction materials.

Some individuals who also spoke on the basis of anonymity expressed worry over the situation, calling on authorities to intervene.

A few of them suggested that, for the well-being of the shoreline, beach grasses and coconuts need to be planted.
