After the New Patriotic Party ‘s (NPP) internal elections, grapevine information indicated that the Vice President wanted to select him as his running mate.

There is the belief that Opoku Onyinah will be able to win the political party more votes from Christendom than any other member of the political party.

Apart from this, he is from the Ashanti region and has an unblemished record in public service.

His post which has sparked conversations on social media read “The Lord has a reason for creating me. Burying my talent and making it redundant is doing a disservice to my family, church, nation, and world. If I fail to speak, to work, to contribute, I allow the ‘bad’ minority to rule and dictate. Meanwhile, some leading party people have started sharing photos of him and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Flagbearer asking that they wish the party would present that ticket for the 2024 elections.

The Vice President was expected to have announced his running mate in December but asked for an extension of time to consult further to arrive at the right choice that will see the NPP break the eight.
