Okaikwei North: Two NPP paddies turn enemies; trade jabs on social media

The race for who becomes the New Patriotic Party(NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for Okaikwei North Constituency has suddenly turned two paddies into sworn enemies

Happenings in the Okaikwei North Constituency promise to be an interesting one as two of the NPP’s toughest females – Afia Akoto and Nana Ama Dokua Asiamah Adjei have filed their nomination forms to contest and subsequently ready to represent the NPP in the parliamentary elections of 2024.

Afia Akoto, a former Deputy Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the  Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC) and the current Member of Parliament (MP) for Akuapem North, Nana Ama Dokua Asiamah Adjei, have been throwing subtle jabs at each other via social media.

“I don’t pretend to be what is not, I’ve never had to introduce any blood brother of mine as my driver to create a rich aunty perception for myself. For me what you see is what you get. I know my level since,” Nana Ama Dokua Asiamah Adjei wrote on Facebook, apparently taking a swipe at her contender.

‘This is just the doing of the Lord. The God of my fathers showed up yesterday to showcase me in a grand style. Join the grassroots landlady of OKN  Thank you so so much to all delegates that came. This was just to submit my forms and not a health walk or unity walk. Coming events…… thank you my Spiritual Fathers and your Altars…

Get yourself ready! Stand up and say to them whatever I command you. Do not be terrified by them, or I will terrify you before them. Today I have made you a fortified city, an iron pillar and a bronze wall to stand against the whole land—against the kings of Judah, its officials, its priests and the people of the land. They will fight against you but will not overcome you, for I am with you and will rescue you,” declares the Lord’ Afia Akoto hit back.

Afia Akoto then wrote about how the phone of some persons who had been plotting against her called her due to the power of God.

“When they are conspiring against you and their own phone calls you.  Then you know there is God oooo. They will fall into the pit they dug for us. This one na God ooooo” she declared.

The Okaikwei North Constituency seat is currently occupied by  Theresa Lardi Awuni of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), who went unopposed in the NDC primaries.

Nana Ama Dokua Asiamah Adjei abandoned her Constituency, Akuapem North, for the Okaikwei North Constituency after her constituents sent a clear message that they were in support of the candidature of Sammi Awuku.
