The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has been cautioned against thinking the 2024 General Elections is a done deal for them in view of the current internal challenges of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP)

Head of Research of the Kennedy Agyapong Campaign team in the Ashanti Region, Silas Asiedu who gave the caution noted that the NDC jubilating over the current failures of the ruling NPP and its government coupled with its struggles with the hope of winning the 2024 polls will be left in shock.

Making a firm position for the NPP with a Ken candidature in 2024, Mr. Asiedu said there may be unpleasant situations in the country but that does not mean Ghanaians are willing to give their mandate to the NDC.

He was speaking on the Ultimate FM Cup of Tea with show host Julius Caesar Anadem.

“The 2024 elections is not for the NDC, they shouldn’t think our failures today will give them victory. We will break the 8 with Kennedy Agyapong, he has the right attitude and skills for the job of presidency”

“The NDC now feels comfortable, they have a flagbearer and some parliamentary candidates in place but the real question is what their message is all this while? What will they do when given the power today? The good people are just waiting for Kennedy Agyapong so they vote for and nothing can stop that. This election (2024) is about personalities and Mahama and his NDC are not near the presidency, they are not the personalities Ghana wants now, it’s Ken and the NPP and no other group” he said.

There is a growing level of disappointment sweeping through the country over the performance of the NPP government since it assumed office in 2017. In recent times there have been demonstrations against the government while the party maintains its mantra of breaking the eight, which is succeeding itself with a different candidate.

Some argue situations are fertile for the NDC coming back into office as to whether that will happen to Ghanaians and time will tell.
