In a significant step towards promoting women’s health and empowerment, Sherifa Sekyere Tijani, the NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Nkwanta South, has generously donated sanitary pads to over 1,200 students in Nkwanta South Municipality of the Oti Region.

The Deputy Managing Director of State Housing sanitary pads initiative aims to improve menstrual hygiene and reduce the risk of infection among young schoolgirls.

Research has shown that some girls abandon school due to their inability to access menstrual products.

During her address, the PC, Sherifa Sekyere Tijani,  highlighted the pervasive issue of menstrual stigma and its profound impact on women and girls worldwide. She stated, “Millions of women and girls are prevented from reaching their full potential simply because they menstruate. On this day, we unite to change that. Together, we can increase awareness and action towards our common goal

Her commitment to this cause reflect her dedication to the well-being and empowerment of women and girls in the Nkwanta South Constituency and beyond. Her proactive stance on such critical issues underscores her vision of a society where all individuals can thrive with dignity and equality.

In her address to the students, Sherifa Sekyere Tijani urged the students to strive for excellence and encouraged students to prioritize their studies. She emphasized the invaluable gift of education and vocational training, reaffirming the NPP government’s commitment to ensuring universal access to secondary education.
