An avowed supporter of Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and Former Regional Minister of the Upper East Region Tangoba Abayage has said that even though Dr Mahamudu Bawumia is the most qualified among the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer aspirants.
She indicates that the Vice President has the upper hand when it comes to who is best suited for the position of flagbearer, his supporters must still work hard to ensure that he wins the upcoming presidential primaries of the party.
Ms Abayage noted that supporters must canvass votes for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia by telling delegates the reasons why he is the towering figure among the aspirants and therefore deserves to lead the NPP into the 2024 General Elections.
For her, every indicator favours Dr Bawumia as the one to lead the NPP at this time of the party’s history considering prevailing circumstances.
“Out of a lot, he is the primus inter pares. No one comes closer but that doesn’t mean that we should go and sleep. It only gives us a lot of work because we need to give reasons why he is the primus inter pares. We have to go out and tell people why he is the best among the rest.
From the north to the south, from the west to the east, all 16 regions agree that our best bet for 2024 is none other than Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. On the economy, on the geographical dimensions of this country, on intellect, on principles, whichever angle you want to take this campaign, it is going to be good for us,” she explained at the launch of the Rapid Response Unit for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia (RRU4DM), a group dedicated to campaigning for Dr Bawumia in Bolgatanga over the weekend.
Ms Abayage, arguably the most well-known female political figure of the NPP in the Upper East Region, has been an enthusiastic supporter of Dr Bawumia, who has regularly defended his record and extolled his great leadership qualities
