NDC targets GH¢10m to prosecute campaign in V/R

The Volta Region branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has launched an ambitious GH¢10 million fund raising campaign to mobilise adequate resources to run the 2024 general elections in the region.

The short code being used to mobilise funds for the Volta Region NDC is x248x52#.

Party members and sympathisers are being encouraged to use the short code to contribute from one cedis and above to enable the party raise adequate funds for the campaign.

Speaking at the media launch of the short code, the Volta Regional Chairman of the NDC, Mr Agbavitor, said there would be brand ambassador for the short code, who would visit churches, mosque and markets to educate the people on the need to use the short code and contribute meaningfully to the fund raising.

Mr Agbavitor explained that the money that would be mobilised through the short code would be distributed to the constituencies, branches and the region to aid the campaign activities. According to him, if adequate funds are raised, some would be sent to the Presidential Candidate, Mr John Dramani Mahama to support his campaign.

He further explained that the  launch of the short code to raise  funds, showed the seriousness the NDC attached to the 2024 general election, and that the party was determined to win the general elections, and rescue the country from the hardship the NPP government brought upon the upon the people.

The Volta Regional Secretary of the NDC, Mr James Gunu, noted that the party in the region had adopted strategies including the fundraising to mobilise more resources to aid thecampaign in the region, build a strong and united front for the NDC to ensure resounding victory.

Mr Gunu said the NPP government had destroyed the economy and made life unbearable for Ghanaians, and that NDC as a party, needed to strategise effectively to wrestle power from the ruling party.

He said the NDC would work hard with available resources to prosecute the election 2024 agenda to help John Dramani Mahama to come back as president to rescue the nation.

A Member of the Professional Forum of the NDC, Dr Ohene Gyan, said the Forum had adopted the Hohoe Constituency and would do everything possible to take the seat from the NPP.

He described the capture of the seat by the ruling party as a crime against the electorate.

The Volta Regional Treasurer of the Party, Mr Daniel AgbokaDzegede said the short code for raising funds would replace the code used for the payment of dues by members of the party.

According to him, Volta Region had 600,000 registered members and if all of them could contribute meaningfully to support the party, NDC would have enough money for its activities.

He, therefore, urged party members to contribute meaningfully through the short code to support the campaign of the party.
