Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Asiedu Nketiah has backed Members of Parliament on the Minority side of Parliament’s move to boycott Parliamentary sittings any day Hon. James Gyakye Quayson’s case is heard in court.

To him, the people of Ghana are now aware of the political witch-hunting the New Patriotic Party government is using the courts for.

“We are now aware of the fact that efforts at trying James Guakye Quayson is geared towards gaining some political advantage. If Gyakye Quayson had done something criminal the court wouldn’t have ruled that he can recontest for the seat.

There is a clear indication that he has done nothing wrong. The names Kyei Mensah-Bonsu mentioned were people who could not contest for their seats again. I agree with the decision by the NDC MPs to join their colleague any day he goes to court,” he said.

On June 16, the court upheld the argument for the Attorney-General to conduct trial of the case on daily basis, starting from June 20.
