The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has rendered an unqualified apology to former President John Agyekum Kuffour over an unsavoury remark by Mr Dela Edem.
According to the National Communications Bureau of the party, NDC accords utmost respect to the elderly in society and honours distinguished Statesmen like the former president.
As a result, the party said it was right that Dela Edem has duly retracted his statement and rendered an unqualified apology to the elderly Statesman.
The party, in a statement signed by National Communication Officer, Sammy Gyamfi, added its voice to the apology that has been rendered and hoped that the retraction and admission of guilt would bring closure to the matter.
Mr Sammy Gyamfi sounded a word of caution to all communicators of the party to be circumspect with their pronouncements and concentrate on the party’s core message.
“The party strongly advises all communicators to remain focused on propagating the transformational policies of the visionary nation-builder, H.E. John Dramani Mahama and the NDC for a resounding victory on December 7, 2024”, the statement said.
A member of the NDC communication team, Dela Edem, at a recent public event, unleashed a blistering attack on former president John Agyekum Kuffour.
Mr Edem’s comment, which basically touched on Mr Kuffour’s present physical condition which has compelled him to use a wheelchair, sparked huge controversy.
