The Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei Mensah, has dared the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to name a single hospital project they initiated, completed, and commissioned during John Dramani Mahama‘s presidency.

In a recent interview with GHOne TV, he vowed to resign as a regional minister if the largest opposition party in the country can provide evidence of such a project, challenging their claims and asserting that the NPP has delivered more in healthcare infrastructure.

He also accused the NDC of fabricating fake news in response to such challenges and reiterated his readiness to defend his claims without hesitation.

“Me, I am like the porcupine—you attack me, I’ll give you my spine. I have told them – (NDC), if they can give me one hospital they either initiated or inherited, completed, commissioned, and accepted patients, I will resign as regional minister.

“And because of these questions that I will put to them, they will go and make fake things that I cannot mention here,” he stated.

Simon Osei Mensah further expressed confidence in his knowledge and debating skills, stating that he does not rely on prepared notes during interviews.

“Me, I don’t even attend interviews with sheets or papers. I go with my coconut [head], and I want one person who has interviewed me to say I was holding a paper,” he remarked.

In support of the government’s achievements in the health sector, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, has pointed out that the Akufo-Addo led government has completed over 30 hospitals under the Agenda 111 Project, further solidifying their commitment to improving healthcare infrastructure across the country.
