Investigations have revealed that the husband of Cecilia Abena Dapaah, resigned Minister of Sanitation and Water Resources, Daniel Osei Kufour, is a millionaire architect with over 50 years of experience. 

 

 

The accomplished architect who is a Fellow of the Ghana Institute of Architects married Cecilia Abena Dapaah over 37 years ago and is said to be a Millionaire.

As Lead Architect of Kufuor, Sohne and Partners, Daniel Osei Kufuor is said to be the brain behind very big infrastructure projects in Accra such as the Silver Star Towers building at the Airport City in Accra and the College of Physicians and Surgeons.

Papers sighted by MyNewsGh.com showed these projects alone brought him in excess of US$9Million with his partners.

Cecilia Abena Dapaah’s Husband is also the brain behind The Chinese Embassy’s new Chancellery Block in Accra and the Russian Embassy in Accra building which both gave the firm US$ 5 million.

He also designed and built sections of the Tamale Teaching Hospital as well as the Danish and Canadian Embassy in Accra.

Per his LinkedIn profile, in 1964 he enrolled at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) to study architecture graduating with a BSc in Architecture in 1967.

He obtained an MSc in Architecture in 1969 from the same institution.

Background

This follows the scandal over the several foreign and local currencies a househelp of the Kufours allegedly stole from their residence. She resigned.

In her resignation letter addressed to the President, Madam Dapaah said she decided to step down “because I do not want this matter to become a preoccupation of government and a hindrance to the work of government at such a crucial time.”

It emerged on Friday, July 21 that two house helps of the Minister were facing charges before an Accra Circuit Court for allegedly stealing an amount of $1 million, €300,000, and millions of Ghanaian cedis at the former minister’s residence at Abelenkpe, Accra, in October 2022.

The two, 18-year-old Patience Botwe and 30-year-old Sarah Agyei allegedly stole the monies and personal effects of the couple, between the months of July and October 2022.

Both have been charged with one count of conspiracy to commit a crime and five counts of stealing US$1 million, €300,000 and millions of Ghana cedis.
