McDan’s Wode Maya PR Backfires As Ghanaians Show Anger On Social Media

A public relations work between McDan Group and Ghanaian vlogger Wode Maya has backfired as Ghanaians rain insults on the controversial businessman.
Wode Maya who made a short documentary video and interview about the success of Electrochem Ghana Limited received wide backlash from his followers on Facebook and YouTube about the Ghanaian businessman, Daniel Mckorley.
About 80% of the comments were which were very negative highlighted the alleged bad management practices of Electrochem in Ada amidst human rights abuses.

McDan has faced several demonstrations by the youth of Ada against his projects.
There was also controversy over the circumstances of the lease of Terminal One to the businessman to use as a private jet terminal amidst Drug smuggling concerns by officials of Narcotics Control Commission.
Despite the protests against McDan, his projects continued and was commissioned by President Akufo-Addo on August 30, 2023. He also continued mining salt from the lagoon.
He has received several top awards and accolades in the business sector in Ghana and is regarded one of the best indigenous Ghanaian entrepreneurs.
