Former President John Dramani Mahama is pledging that the next National Democratic Congress, NDC administration will establish poultry farm businesses for party members.
According to him, “The next NDC administration will offer people the chance to launch new businesses. I implore all branch executives to seize the opportunity when it arises. If you wish to start a poultry farm, we will buy the hens for you, offer you money to feed the animals, and equip you with the hen coop”.
He explained that for instance, people who will be interested in poultry farming, will be provided with hen coops and give them the resources they need to be successful in their venture.
Mr. Mahama, who was speaking to delegates at one of his campaign platforms recently explained that the NDC administration will also cover the cost of the birds that the farmers will start within their poultry business in addition to giving them the cage-to-house the birds.
He added, “When the birds lay eggs, you can sell them and retain the money; and when they stop laying, you can sell the birds to make money.”
The former President promised that the government will provide some funding to farmers so they could purchase chicken feed for their flocks.
Mr. Mahama noted that the government will carry out all of these actions without requesting payment from anyone who will benefit from and participate in the project.
In preparation for the 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections, the ex-President has traveled wide and near the country asking delegates for their support to become the NDC’s flagbearer.
The party is expected to conduct its parliamentary and Presidential elections on 13th May 2023.
