Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong has accused Greater Accra Regional Minister Henry Quartey of betrayal making references to the Minister’s second wife in the United States and a house they purchased.

Agyapong made the allegations in a speech to a gathering in the United States, where he was on a recent campaign tour revealing that he had to top up for the Minister to be able to afford the US House.

Kennedy Agyapong said he helped Henry Quartey at a time when Bawumia was nowhere to be found but it appears the Minister now supports Bawumia whole denigrating he (Kennedy Agyapong).

Kennedy Agyapong said that Quartey had become arrogant and was using his position as regional minister to enrich himself.

“Henry Quartey, because of the big positions I secured for him, today he claims he is a regional minister… ” Agyapong said.

“He sold one piece of land to me for US$200,000 around UPSA, which has become the subject of litigation,” he added.

Speaking on the house for his second wife, Agyapong said Quartey took a loan from Adom Africa market to buy a house for his second wife in America and needed a top up which he provided.

“When you wanted to buy a house for your second wife in America, I helped you to secure a loan at Adom Africa market, where was Bawumia?” Agyapong asked.

Agyapong threatened to expose more about Quartey if he continued to attack him.

“Today, he refers to me as a crazy MP who wants to become president. God will deal with Henry Quartey. If he plays with me, the things I would disclose about him,” Agyapong said.

Quartey has not yet responded to Agyapong’s allegations.

Agyapong’s allegations against Quartey are serious, but he has not provided any evidence to support them.

If the allegations are true, it would be a major scandal, as Quartey is a senior member of the government. It would also raise questions about the level of corruption under President Akufo-Addo-led government.
