John Kumah died enroute to Germany for treatment – Collins Atta Poku

Sports journalist and Lecturer, Collins Atta Poku has disclosed that the late John Kumah, Deputy Finance Minister has not been well since November 2023.

He said the late Member of Parliament(MP) for Ejisu Constituency was on his way from Kumasi to Accra in an ambulance when he met his untimely death.

John Kumah, according to the Sompa FM journalist, would have travelled to Germany from Accra to receive medical attention on March 7, 2023.

However, he did not make it to Accra as he passed on while in the ambulance.

Sources reveal that he visited his constituency in the Ashanti Region for the independence anniversary when his health condition deteriorated.
While on the way, his condition became very critical and the ambulance diverted to the Suhum Government Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

His remains has since been deposited at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra.

The death of the young minister has hit several people from both political divides.

The President of Ghana, in a condolence message on social media, acknowledged John Kumah’s dedication to his work, his humility and his love for Ghana.

To the president, the country has lost a gem.
