Former Deputy Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kwaku Boahen, has alleged that the Electoral Commission employs the services of members of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP).

He says these employees who manage elections are used to rig the results of elections in favour of the NPP.

Kwaku Boahen, who used the 2020 elections as a case study, said, “In some parts of the country, we recorded 100%. So they want to tell us no one died there? Do they want to tell us no one was absent? What they do is, in the afternoon, when no one is around, they sack agents of other political parties and pad the ballot boxes.”

Kwaku Boaken indicated that it is imperative that the Electoral Commission reintroduce the indelible ink in order to identify people who have already voted, avoid double voting, and aid in the rigging of the elections.

“We have been using the ink since 1992, and it has been very useful. It has helped us prevent people from voting more than once. People use the names of others to vote so that is why the indelible ink is important,” he said.

“I believe that Jean Mensah wants to rig the elections but she will not succeed in her bid to do that. She has a bad mind but she will not succeed. She wants to suppress the NDC because she knows that when NDC comes to power she will lose her job because she has not done right by the people of Ghana,” he said.
