The Director of Corporate Affairs of the National Service Scheme, Armstrong Esaah has explained the importance of the policy launch that will be held today led by the president of the Republic, H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo.

He initially shared the experiences of the personnels with regards to how they’ve been receiving their allowances on time which wasn’t the case at first. This is has been so because there’s been proper integration of technology to deal with blockades and also eliminate “ghost names”.

Speaking to Oheneba Nana Asiedu on the Wontumi morning show, “We have also introduced innovative projects like The Sekyere Kumawu Economic Enclave Project (SKEEP)” He added. This project is a major agricultural project which is training and grooming NSS personnels for the sector. The scheme also has plans to absorb them and assist them in establishing their own farms. This is to help reduce unemployment and also aid in the supply of food for buffer stock and other institutions.

Addressing the policy launch ahead of the scheme’s 50th Anniversary at the College of Physicians in Accra, we should expect a framework that is going to upgrade the National Service Scheme into a world class institution and confer on it an authority status to become the National Service Authority. The three main strategies of the policy are the “Standardization of operations”, “Customization of programs” and the “Globalization of deployment”.

These are well thought-through policies that are going to improve the systematical structures of the scheme and improve the productivity levels of our personnels.
