Majority of Youth in Tarkwa has expressed the fear that Bonsah and Pataho forest may soon be ruined because of illegal mining populary known as “Galamsey”by Chinese and their Ghanaian partners.

According to them, the issue of poor road network and illegal mining has been a very perturbing menace for the people of Tarkwa.

The Youth described the activity of the legal miners as a shameful enterprise and a waiting death sentence for Indigens and Ghanaians if not checked by government.

Mr Isaac Amoah, who is the Convener of the group in the press statement reiterated that ,the wantom destruction of the forest is Not known to the forest manager and his Technical team in charge of the Bonsah and Pataho forest reserves in Tarkwa.

“Some Chinese and Ghanaian partners have invaded the forest tacitly with 5 excavators engaging in illegal mining ” part of the statement reads.
