In the quest to finding a lasting solution to the growing issues of infidelity among marriage couples in the country, Ghanaian men have been entreated to consider embracing customary marriage which permits them to marry more than one woman.

According to the New Patriotic Party’s Communications Team Member, Ellen Ama Daaku, men who cannot simply stay with one woman should go for traditional marriage for their own peace in their homes.

She believes opting for traditional marriage also known as customary marriage should be an ideal choice for such men in order to keep peace at home.

“Ghana’s constitution…permits any man to marry more wives if he chooses to go the way of customary [marriage] so if you are a man who will mistakenly succumb to ordinance marriage then it is your own sic ‘wahala’ [problem]. Because, until you commit to any marriage type you have all the opportunity to decide,” she cautioned.

“If you a man and you cannot be faithful to one partner, my brother do not go and commit your life to any ordinance marriage, go for traditional marriage,” she said on the Angel Morning Show, Monday, March 25, 2024.

The failed NPP National Women Organiser reminded that once men are able to make such choices to their advantage, issues of cheating outside their marital homes would no more be a topic for discussion.

“Most of our ladies today are behaving this strange way because their partners fail to make them understand their [men] inability to stay with one woman before they mutually commit their future,” she emphasised.
