The former Member of Parliament for Nkwanta North district who doubles as the Deputy Chief Executive Officer for the Minerals Commission, Hon. Joseph Kwaku Nayan has revealed his ambition to contest in the upcoming NPP primaries when nominations are opened for orphan constituencies.

 

He is optimistic about winning the primaries and subsequently, the general elections denoting that he has unfinished business with the people of Nkwanta North constituency.

Speaking in an interview with Manasseh Evans, he stated that he has been a member of parliament for the said constituency for two terms stressing that he was the only NPP member of parliament out of the 25 parliamentary seats available in the then Volta region with great dominance of the NDC adding that there is no single NPP member of parliament in the Oti region with only one NPP parliamentary5 representative in Hohoe in the Volta region, a situation he described as unfortunate to the NPP as far as Oti and Volta regions are concerned.

He emphasized the need for the party delegates to reinstate him as their parliamentary candidate because he has what it takes to win the seat for NPP in the Nkwanta North constituency based on his effective work output during his tenure as a member of parliament as compared to Hon.

 

Hon. Oti Bless who has also served for about 12 years now on the NDC ticket stressing that the campaign plans for 2024 general election are project-based campaign which has nothing to do with politics of insult.

Hon. Joseph Kwaku Nayan indicated that there was nothing to write home about before he became a member of parliament for Nkwanta North District in 2005 stressing there was no electricity and water with bad roads and schools under trees which affect the social and economic development of the people and so his 8 years administration realized the need to fix the available problems to ensure the growth and development of Nkwanta North district.

The Former member of parliament added that considering the developmental projects he did for Nkwanta North with the 8years mandate given to him by the Nkwanta electorates, he has unfinished business with his people and so he is poised to win the seat to be able to continue with all the good works and policies during his tenure in government as a member of parliament
