The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare has denied having a working relationship with former Northern Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Chief Daniel Bugri Naabu.
He answered with an emphatic ‘NO’ when he was asked whether or not he had a working relationship with Chief Bugri Naabu.
Appearing before the Bi-partisan parliamentary committee probing a leaked tape about a conspiracy to remove him from office on Tuesday, September 11, 2023, Dr George Akuffo Dampare noted that he had no working relationship whatsoever with Chief Bugri Naabu, who has admitted to secretly recording the three police officers involved in the plot to oust the IGP from his position.
The IGP decried the fact that he has been summoned by the Committee to answer to baseless allegations contained in the testimony of the three embattled police officers heard in the leaked tape.
He stressed that the allegations made by his colleagues, for whom he has been summoned by the parliamentary committee, are an attempt to cover their shame.
