The Ho Central Constituency of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) is working vigorously to ensure that the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) is heavily defeated in the 2024 general elections. They intend to rescue the country from economic hardship brought upon the people by the Nana Akufo-Addo led NPP government.

Pursuant to this ambition, the youth wing of the NDC in Ho Central have established a special office, where youth activities would be planned and executed, with the hope that the NDC would win 90 percent of presidential votes and retain the seat.

Speaking in an interview with The Chronicle in Ho, Mr Noah Dzikpor, the Youth Organiser, disclosed that apart from the establishment of a permanent office, he had also purchased a pick-up to facilitate youth campaign activities.

According to Mr Dzikpor, the 250 youth branch Organisers in the constituency had been tasked to ensure that each of them registers 100 youth who have attained the age of 18 in the ongoing registration exercise as first time voters.

He told The Chronicle that the branch organisers had already gone through vigorous education and that they have adequately been prepared for the exercise.

Mr Dzikpor said the youth are committed to efforts being made to win the pending general election because they are the very people who are suffered most under the NPP’s Nana Addo and Bawumia administration.

He explained that victory for the NDC, though is not going to be easy, would rescue Ghanaians from the poor governance of the NPP and hardships they are going through.

The Deputy Youth Organiser of the NDC in the Ho Central Constituency, Mr Emmanuel Kofi Aryee, on his part said the ‘24 hour economy promised by John Mahama should not be seen as a mere campaign message but a strategy that would transform the economy.

According to him, it would address the high unemployment rate in the country.

Mr Aryee said the NPP is aware of the positive impact that ‘the 24 hour economy’ would bring and have, therefore, decided to condemn it.

The NDC Deputy Youth Organiser said the task ahead should not be seen as a battle between the NDC and the NPP or political struggle for power, but a desire that would ensure that Ghanaians remove NPP from government, for the NDC to take over the leadership of the country.
