“History should be part of our core curriculum for students” the former China ambassador, Edward Boateng has asserted.

He said this, following the celebration of the 150th anniversary of Sagrenti war, and the returning of some looted Ashanti artefacts which was held at Manhyia Palace on 8th February, 2024.

Speaking with Oheneba Nana Asiedu on Wontumi TV, he emphasised the need for students to learn history as a course at the nascent of school. He believes that the study of the course will inculcate our culture and its background in them.

“We should make sure that our children study history in their schools to facilitate a sense of belonging. Studying history preserves cultural heritage. We should begin to regard out food, clothing, and language. It is hightime Ghanaians changed their negative perception about the country and embraced our culture” Mr. Boateng stressed.
