Manchester City playmaker Kevin De Bruyne, has named Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes as the best midfielder in the Premier League.

Speaking to Sky Sports, De Bruyne ranked Fernandes ahead of James Maddison of Tottenham Hotspur and Martin Odegaard of Arsenal.

When quizzed about his decision, the Belgian said: “I think he is a creative machine.”

De Bruyne created 98 chances in the league last season. Fernandes, by comparison, clocked in at 119.

Yet De Bruyne finished the campaign with 16 assists while Fernandes achieved only half of that total.
