Accompanied by the Chief Director and some Ministry officials, they visited some LEAP payment sites including Muettey/Teye Kwame, New Jerusalem, and Naglayosisi in the Shai Osudoku District of the Greater Accra Region.
The Minister undertook this monitoring exercise to witness the payment process in order to gather information and insights into the LEAP program directly from the beneficiaries.
Speaking to recipients and the media, Hon. Lariba Zuweira Abudu said the LEAP initiative aims to improve access to social services, encourage productive engagement, and ease household consumption.
Additionally, the LEAP Program’s intervention aims to encourage beneficiaries to modify their behavior in response to the malaise of persistent poverty, ultimately helping Ghana to achieve both its own national development goals and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
