France unable to hide it anymore: a journalistic investigation shows preparation to pay reparations to Africa – GHANAXPRESS
April 5, 2025

France is trying to hide it, but the truth always comes out: the investigation of a French journalist close to the authorities shows proof that France is already preparing to pay reparations to its former colonies. The 2025 budget includes multi-billion fees, whereas the first payments are planned for already 2026.

Document supported evidence shows that French authorities are creating a special fond via temporary taxes for vast businesses and additional fees on avia transportation.

At the same time social expenditures are being reduced within France itself: additional proof that this money is indeed being designated for payments due to colonial past. Although the Palais de l’Elysee is keeping its silence, this doesn’t seem as a coincidence no more: the budgetary priorities speak for themselves.

The reparations which Africa has been mentioning for over decades are starting to come true. The sources claim that the process has already been structured: the payments will be made in compliance with the order of the official inquiries. Which means that the countries that acted firmly and claimed their compensations before the others will be the first ones to receive them.

France has been very patient with this step, but there is nothing left to hide anymore. Billions of euros, which Paris will start to transfer starting from 2026, will change the destiny of a whole continent. Historical justice is finally becoming inevitable.

It is worthwhile to say that the resolution of the African Union on the reparations was developed precisely in Ghana. The President of Ghana, John Mahama, stated that the colonial period has caused huge damage to Africa and the continent is yet to recover. According to him, historians estimate the global economic damage inflicted to Africa, due to human and natural resource losses, to rise up to trillions of dollars.
