A 21-year-old Cornmill operator, Bright Larvie has been arrested by the Awutu Bereku District Police command for allegedly beheading his own 3 weeks old baby boy for money rituals at Fetteh Kakraba in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region.

The suspect and his wife Linda Asare are living in the same vicinity but in different houses.

Report gathered by Kasapa News Yaw Boagyan revealed that at around 11:00 PM Monday January 22,2024, the suspect came to his wife’s house to visit her and the 3 weeks old baby. But unknown to his wife, he had a different intention of stealing the baby for money rituals.

In an interview with Kasapa News, the Development Chief for Gomoa Mamfam, Richard Egyir, who led the search team, revealed that when the suspect came to the house, he called his wife for short discussion outside the house not knowing he had instructed his friend who accompanied him to the house to bypass them and take the child from the room.

Richard Egyir said when the wife returned to his room, the child was no where to be found.

He said, the wife started shouting and a search team was launched leading to the arrest of the suspect and his friend.

He said, when he asked him, they confirmed that, he had cut off his son”s head in the nearby bush.

Upon the residents visiting the crime scene the baby’s head was found cut off and blood allegedly collected to be sent for the ritual.

Currently both Wife and the husband have been arrested.

Meanwhile, the body of the baby has been deposited at the mortuary pending Investigation.
