Fallouts from NPP Primaries: Party Chairman Beaten in Church

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Constituency Youth Organizer for the Asante Akyem South Constituency, Simon Agyemang, has physically assaulted the Constituency Chairman of the party, Noah Kyei, as he (Noah Kyei) and other bigwigs of NPP joined the newly-elected NPP parliamentary candidate and incumbent MP for the Constituency, Kwaku Asante Boateng at a thanksgiving church service.

An enraged Simon Agyemang held Mr Kyei by the neck and manhandled him, prompting the people present to rush to his rescue. It is unclear why he attacked the Constituency Chairman but sources say the Youth Organizer is dissatisfied with the Chairman’s handling of the parliamentary primary election in the Constituency.

The presence of Mr Noah at the Thanksgiving Service is thought to have angered Mr Agyemang, who is a known avowed supporter of the current MP and parliamentary candidate elect. Hence his attempt to forcibly drag Mr Noah out of the church.

Bice Osei Kuffuor( alias Obour), the Managing Director of Ghana Post, came second after the contest.

Simon Agyemang’s conduct has been widely criticised.
