Fake police inspector busted at Konongo

A man who has been posing as a police Inspector with the Ghana Police Service has been arrested at Konongo in the Ashanti Region.

The suspect identified as Isaac Kofi Boakye according to a police situational report sighted by MyNewsGh.com, has been holding himself for the past six months as a police chief inspector stationed at Form Police Unit Headquarters in Accra but is on sick leave

On Wednesday, December 6, 2023, he was arrested by Inspector Alex Nkansah, who doubted his claim after he observed that he lacked basic police knowledge.

A search was conducted in his abode and one black long-sleeved police uniform, one camouflage long-sleeved police uniform with his name I.K Boakye boldly embossed on it. They also found one black police boot, a pair of handcuffs, one beret, a camouflage cap, two inspector ranks, two Chief Inspector Ranks and two lanyards.

The suspect has been detained at the police station pending further investigation.
