Manchester United have placed Ryan Bertrand on their shortlist of candidates to deputise for the injured Luke Shaw.
Bertrand, who has previously played for Chelsea and Leicester City, is currently without a club.
Red Devils boss, Erik ten Hag, is scouting the market for a player that would take Shaw’s place in his squad.
Shaw is set for an “extended period” on the sidelines with a muscular problem.
The England fullback has featured for the entire 90 minutes of United’s first two Premier League games.
He will now miss Saturday’s home fixture against Nottingham Forest and next week’s showdown with Arsenal.
