Easter is a Christian festival that marks the resurrection of Jesus Christ. For many Christians, Easter is a celebration of the triumph of life over death and a very important time of the year. Many non-Christians also have a holiday at this time, so it is a popular time to travel or spend with friends and family.
With this, the African leader of Israel’s based Bible school, World Wide Evangelical Seminary, Apostle Dr. Louis Aboagye has told Ghanaians to be wary as we celebrate this year’s easter festivities.
He bemoaned how people perceive easter to be, taking into consideration other aspects of life that don’t portray the significance and reasons why easter is celebrated being the intake of alcohol, adultery, and other unfaithful lifestyles which according to him has nothing to do with the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Kwaku Mensah Abrampa of High Radio, he indicated that the significant idea about the Easter celebration is to remember the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ which characterizes the love of God to mankind.
He said it baffles him why people still don’t believe in the significance of Easter but believe in the existence of Jesus Christ stressing that the remembrance of the resurrection power of Christ has become the problem of the day which should be so because a soul of an innocent man was taken in a disgraceful manner in the quest to save mankind from all sinful acts.
Apostle Louis Aboagye finally called on Christians and other believers to live a Godly life in this Easter period to embrace the glory of God when he resurrects.
Apostle Dr. Louis Aboagye seized the opportunity to explain to Christians and well-meaning believers the significance of easter indicating that a lot of recognized persons died and couldn’t return to life but Jesus died and was resurrected on the 3rd day which brings about joy and satisfaction to his followers, adding that it brings a change of mind to believers and reminds us about the love of God towards mankind.
He indicated that the death of God has impacted humans positively because it has brought forgiveness and paved the way for repentance which will lead humanity to eternal life as described in the Bible.
