The Digitalisation initiative by Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia will not solve the hunger issues in the country, Solomon Owusu, a Communications Team member of the Movement For Change political group has asserted.

According to him, Ghanaians are facing a crisis of shortage of food, hence, bragging about digitalization would not improve the food production rate in the country.

“Ghanaians are hungry, digitalisation will not solve the hunger issues. Digitalisation does not show where to plant maize and yam. All we need is to get food and eat.”

He critized Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for focusing on promoting digitalisation, neglecting the agricultural sector amidst the high inflation brought about as result of the increase in food inflation.

“A country with land full of riches, why must we be hungry? We have given you the chance to speak to us, you are coming to talk about digitalisation,” he said on the Angel Morning Show.

Mr. Owusu questioned why Dr. Bawumia despite his digitalisation slogan went hideout immediately the recent internet challenges occurred. Such development, he added both the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and National Democratic Congress (NDC), are not reliable for the country.

“After promoting your digitalisation, and the lights are still off, what is the importance? So what is the effect of your digitalisation if we are still sleeping in the dark?”

He encouraged Ghanaians to choose wisely in the 2024 general election if they do not want to wallow in misery and poverty.

“Why should Ghanaians continue to tolerate these two parties? If we want to live in poverty and mess up our lives, the only thing is to continue voting for NPP or NDC, but if we want a good government, that will bring developments, look nowhere else than Alan Kyeremateng. A man whose attributes is Christ-like,” he said.

Mr. Owusu further urged Ghanaians to support the flagbearer for the Movement For Change, Alan Kyeremateng to use the agricultural sector to prevent hunger from hitting the country in the near future.

“The other time, Alan Kyeremanteng encouraged us to focus on agriculture. Let us engage in the innovation, technology and unite farmers to grow the agricultural sector.”
