A Senior Lecturer at the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), Mr. Eric Sakyi Nketiah has officially declared his intention to contest the flagbearer race of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) to lead the party in the 2024 presidential elections.
In a press statement sighted by Ghanaxpress.com , Mr. Eric Sakyi stated that “The decision to run in the 2023 Presidential Primaries was taken after prayer, reflection, consultation with a number of the grassroots of the Party and careful consideration”.
In doing so, he pledged to abide by the Rules and Regulations governing the conduct of the Presidential Primaries as well as the Constitution of the Party.
Mr. Eric Sakyi Nketiah will join the likes of Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Former Trades Minister Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, Former Food and Agriculture Minister Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto and former General Secretary of the party Kwabena Agyei Agyepong , Former Member of Parliament for the Mampong Constituency Francis Addai-Nimoh, Member of Parliament for Assin Central Kennedy Agyapong, Renowned energy expert Kwadwo Nsafoah Poku, Former Attorney-General Joe Ghartey and Kofi Konadu Apraku, Former Member of Parliament for the Offinso North as members of the NPP who have shown interest to lead the party in 2024.
