Bryan Acheampong, the Minister of Agriculture and Abetifi MP has orchestrated a lobby to consider him as Running Mate to Vice president Bawumia in 2024.

A group calling itself ‘TIME FOR BRYAN’ made up  of traders in the Eastern Region declared their  support for Bryan Acheampong as the best candidate to team up with Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

This comes after Acheampong refused on live radio to endorse Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as flagbearer on 8th August 2023 on Peace FM Kokrokoo.

Bryan Acheampong said he won’t declare for Bawumia as NPP flagbearership until after the NPP August 26 Superdelegates primary.

The controversial politician made an appearance on PeaceFM Kokrokoo with Kwame Sefa Kayi where he declined to endorse Bawumia.

According to him, he fears his preffered candidate may lose hence he is waiting until after the Superdelegates Primaries before he declares his choice.

“The Superdelegates should decide. Today, my candidate may not win but I will not declare my support until the superdelegates give direction of where we go this August” He told Kwame Sefa Kayi in Twi.

A week later he declared his support for Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia. It is unclear what made him change his mind.
