Bawumia would not struggle to campaign if NPP’s structures are working- Dr. Fokuo

A lecturer at the Kumasi Technical University, Dr.  Solomon Fokuo Kwarteng, has urged the New Patriotic Party’s executives at all levels, to embrace commitment and dedication in their duties.

According to him, it will be easier for the flagbearer of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, to sell his policies, if there is an efficient grassroots participation.

Speaking on Wontumi Morning Show on 2nd May, 2024, Dr. Fokuo stressed the need for party executives to play their respective roles diligently.

“If you think, you cannot handle your position, give the chance to those who are ready to work. The NPP is not progressing because of such people.

Constituency executives are supposed to do the ‘grounds work’, but they are always at Accra, leaving their work for the chairmen, and those at the top to take care of them. If everyone does his work, the process will be seamless for Dr. Bawumia. If they do otherwise, then the flagbearer will suffer” he said.

He also stated that, most party executives lack the requisite communication skills, highlighting their inability to inform the public on the several projects that have been undertaken by Akufo-Addo and Bawumia government.

“Some of them don’t have communication skills to communicate. It will be of best interest for the NPP to train them to disseminate information effectively” he added.
